Jeffrey Watkiss, 57, has joined the Washington office of McDermott Will & Emery as partner in the firm’s energy advisory practice. Watkiss has particular experience representing power and natural gas companies on regulatory and compliance matters. Previously, he was a partner at Bracewell & Giuliani. He earned his J.D. from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law.
Carol Smoots, 58, has joined Pierce Atwood’s Washington office as a partner in the firm’s energy practice group. Smoots represents energy companies in regulatory proceedings, as well as in domestic and international energy transactions. Previously, she was a partner at Perkins Coie. She earned her J.D. from Willamette University College of Law.
