Attorneys for Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft and Japanese securities firm Nomura traded arguments in Manhattan’s Commercial Division last week in a five-year-old, $68 million legal malpractice suit now whittled down to two claims related to the securitization of a single loan.

Supreme Court Justice Melvin L. Schweitzer presided over arguments on Cadwalader’s summary judgment motion in Nomura Asset Capital v. Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft, 116147/06, presented last Thursday by David R. Mariott of Cravath, Swaine & Moore representing Cadwalader and Amianna Stovall of Constantine Cannon, counsel for Nomura.
