A $2 billion deal announced four years ago is back in the news this week–for all the wrong reasons.

Former Olympus CEO Michael Woodford, who was fired October 14, has touched off a mushrooming scandal over his former employer’s 2007 acquisition of British medical equipment maker Gyrus Group by accusing Olympus of forcing him out after he threatened to expose an alleged fraud at the Japanese maker of digital cameras and medical equipment.
