A Rockland County rabbi cannot force Google to reveal the identities of bloggers who wrote about his alleged sexual relations with female congregants. Rabbi Mordecai Tendler was fired from a New Hempstead congregation following an investigation into the allegations.
While suing the congregation for breach of an employment contract, Mr. Tendler also subpoenaed Google to unmask the authors behind four blogs, which are now inactive. Attorneys for the non-party bloggers moved to quash the subpoenas, contending they are protected by the First Amendment.
