ALBANY - Lobbying expenditures in Albany increased for the 21st straight year in 2011.
Spending rose by $7.7 million last year to an all-time record of $220 million, the Joint Commission on Public Ethics reported on March 27. The total was just under 5 percent higher than the $213 million spent to influence state government in 2010.
