Michael Slapo has been appointed managing partner of Fox Rothschild’s New York office. The law firm also has hired three partners to anchor its entertainment and sports law practice in NewYork: Tim Mandelbaum and Monika Tashman, formerly of Hiscock & Barclay, and Michael Reinert. Reinert previously served 14 years as executive vice president of business and legal affairs for Universal Motown Republic Group, a division of UMG Recordings Inc. The trio also are part of the firm’s intellectual property department.

As managing partner, Slapo will oversee day-to-day operations at the 41-attorney New York office and will serve on the firm’s executive committee, which sets policy for the Philadelphia-founded firm. The appointment was effective April 1. The office managing partner position is an annual appointment that can be renewed for a maximum of five years, Slapo said. He succeeds Glenn Greenfader, who has been serving as New York managing partner since April 2009, said Slapo, who focuses on commercial real estate transactions. Greenfader remains a partner of the firm and will return to full-time practice in the taxation and wealth planning group.
