Arnold & Porter has named partner Stewart Aaron, president of the New York County Lawyers’ Association, as head of its Manhattan office. Aaron is a commercial litigator who has focused on the securities sector. He became president of NYCLA in May 2011 and has exercised the option to serve a second year.

Aaron, 54, was administrative partner in the firm’s 107-attorney New York office responsible for non-lawyer personnel and facility issues. In his new role, he is responsible for the strategic direction of the office, such as lateral hiring, in consultation with the firm’s management.
