Stewarts Law, a U.K. litigation firm, is opening offices in New York and Wilmington, Del., on May 1, with a focus on representing investors in securities, corporate and hedge fund litigation. David Straite, a partner, will lead the New York office of 38-partner Stewarts Law, while partner Ralph Sianni will lead the Wilmington location. They both come from three-attorney firm Sianni & Straite, which will fold as the two partners transition to Stewarts Law.
For now, Straite will be the only attorney in the New York office, while the Wilmington branch will launch with four lawyers. Stewarts Law hopes to add more attorneys later on. The firm plans to represent institutional investors in litigation involving hedge fund disputes, shareholder derivative actions and securities class actions, Straite said.
