Shearman & Sterling announced yesterday that its partnership has elected 30-year veteran Creighton Condon to serve as its next senior partner. Condon will succeed senior partner Rohan Weerasinghe, who is leaving to become general counsel at Citigroup, a key firm client. Shearman also announced it is installing New York-based partner David Beveridge as the firm’s global managing partner.

Condon—who will become the 15th person in Shearman’s 139-year history to fill the senior partner position when he moves into the job tomorrow—said he plans to focus on firmwide strategy and developing client relationships, while Beveridge, who will report to him, will oversee internal operations.
