A man who attempted to evade through a bankruptcy filing $215,000 in attorney fees and expenses awarded in connection with a civil contempt action is now on the hook for additional legal fees and expenses.

Northern District Bankruptcy Judge Margaret Cangilos-Ruiz said the fees and expenses imposed on Muhasen Deb for contempt are clearly nondischargeable debts. She awarded the plaintiff, Cricket Communications of San Diego, attorney fees and expenses incurred in obtaining the judgment of nondischargeability, on top of the fees and expenses already awarded for contempt.
