Denouncing the “strong-arm tactics” of the state court system’s chief of operations, Orange County’s top elected official has vowed to “vigorously” defend against any attempt to penalize it for failing to take immediate steps to replace court space lost in the wake of flooding more than nine months ago.

Orange County Executive Edward Diana wrote to Chief Administrative Judge A. Gail Prudenti yesterday that he was “stunned by the action of your employee, Ronald P. Younkins, and the inappropriate manner in which the Unified Court System has entered into the body politic here in Orange County.”
