A felon is not prohibited from selling weapons he legally possessed before his arrest as long as he never takes actual or constructive possession of the guns, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit has ruled.

Despite the fact that police discovered a cache of illegal machine guns and other firearms at the Connecticut home of Alan Zaleski, the circuit said nothing in the law, 18 U.S.C. §922(g), bars him from trading his other, once-lawfully owned weapons for cash after his conviction.
