After reading the articles and letters published in the Law Journal over these past few days related to comments contained in the New York State Bar Association’s recent Criminal Justice Section’s publication, I am concerned that your readers may not be aware of the very extensive training programs for prosecutors that are in place across the state. The Albany-based New York Prosecutors Training Institute (NYPTI) was established in 1995 to provide comprehensive continuing legal education and assistance to New York’s prosecutors. For more than 10 years I have been privileged to serve as its chair. Last year, NYPTI conducted close to three dozen training conferences at locations around the state on a wide variety of topics.
