I am writing to reply to the Queens district attorney’s unfortunate personal attack on me in a statement that was linked to the article about the Petros Bedi case, “Bid to Overturn Verdict Suggests Witness Was ‘Bribed for Testimony’” (NYLJ, Aug. 15).

The leadership of the Queens D.A.’s office has been quite vocal of late, as have many New York City area district attorneys, defending their Brady disclosure and disciplinary policies against claims by defense attorneys such as myself that they do not take their Brady obligations seriously. They have claimed that they would never tolerate intentional violations of Brady and are serious about remedying any such violation.
