State police say a Brooklyn Supreme Court justice is facing a DWI charge following a traffic stop in suburban Albany. Troopers say Justice Carl Landicino of Yorktown Heights was stopped about 4 p.m. on Oct. 17 on Interstate-87 in the town of Colonie after he was spotted driving aggressively. Police say Landicino (See Profile) failed field sobriety testing and refused to submit to a chemical test to determine his blood alcohol content. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and traffic infractions, arraigned in Menands Village Court and released with a scheduled court return date of Oct. 29.
Landicino, a 1990 graduate of St. John’s University School of Law who was elected to the bench last year after a career in private practice, did not return a call for comment. He had been at the annual conference of the Association of the Justices of the Supreme Court at the Gideon Putnam Resort & Spa in Saratoga Springs, which concluded on Oct. 17.
