Frank H. Granito Jr., an aviation attorney and partner at Speiser, Krause, Nolan & Granito in Manhattan, died Feb. 27 in his sleep at his home in Stamford, Conn. He was 81.

Granito was involved in several high-profile aviation disaster litigations in the past 25 years. He was part of the trial team that proved Pan American World Airways liable for "willful misconduct" for its failure to prevent the bombing of transatlantic Pan Am Flight 103, which exploded over Lockerbie, Scotland, in 1988 and killed 270 people.
