Angelo Ingrassia, a former state Supreme Court justice in Orange County and administrative judge for the five-county Ninth Judicial District, died March 21, two days shy of his 90th birthday and after a nine-month battle with melanoma.

As a judge, Ingrassia commanded respect in the courtroom, said his son John Ingrassia, a criminal defense attorney.
