A partner at Richards Kibbe & Orbe and another at Reed Smith have left their firms to form their own litigation and investigation boutique. Neil Binder and Wendy Schwartz this month opened Binder & Schwartz, which will focus on financial services litigation, regulatory matters and internal investigations and international litigation.

Binder had been practicing at Richards Kibbe since 2003. Schwartz was in Reed Smith’s regularity enforcement group as a partner since 2006. They had served together as Southern District assistant U.S. attorneys. Schwartz said each of them have come with clients to their new firm, located at 28 W. 44th St. They plan to hire two associates soon. Both Binder and Schwartz said their departures were amicable.
