A vegan advocate can pursue his claim that school officials and campus police violated his First Amendment rights by restricting his leafleting outside the gates at Lehman College/The City University of New York, according to a federal judge.

Southern District Judge Paul Engelmayer (See Profile) refused to dismiss Richard Hershey’s central claim that he was wrongly arrested for trespass just outside the campus gates on May 16, 2011.
