Appellate Division, Fourth Department Justice Salvatore Martoche (See Profile) is retiring from the bench this week and joining Hodgson Russ in Buffalo on Sept. 3 as special counsel.

Hodgson Russ said it will launch an alternative dispute resolution practice group to be led by Martoche, who will also be a member of the business litigation, business crimes and corporate investigations and banking practices. Martoche, 72, said he could have stayed on the bench but cited a number of factors that led to his decision, including the desire for a new career adventure and the opportunity to travel.
