Farrell Fritz has been disqualified from representing a Manhattan doctor in contentious litigation with his brother by a Nassau Surrogate who said "doubts as to the existence of a conflict of interest must be resolved in favor of disqualification."

Two Farrell Fritz attorneys, Michael Stafford and Frank Santoro, initially consulted with Kenneth Kaufman about a dispute with his brother, Allen Kaufman, over their parents' estates. Kenneth did not retain the firm, but 16 months later, his brother hired another Farrell Fritz attorney, who was unaware his colleagues had consulted with his client's brother.
