The federal government does not need to turn over photos and videos showing a likely 9/11 co-conspirator at Abu Ghraib, a federal judge has ruled, dismissing a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit brought by a legal rights organization.

Southern District Judge Naomi Buchwald (See Profile) ruled Thursday in Center for Constitutional Rights v. Department of Defense, 1:12-cv-00135, that the government properly rebuffed FOIA requests from the Center for Constitutional Rights for the release of photos and videos of Mohammed al-Qahtani, a Saudi national who has been in Guantánamo since February 2002.
