ALBANY – An Iranian native has made a plausible argument that her firing was based on her Persian heritage to preclude a motion for dismissal of her retaliation claim, a federal judge decided.

Northern District Judge Lawrence Kahn (See Profile) ruled that Soheila Hexemer's action in Hexemer v. General Electric, 1:12-cv-1808, may proceed against the General Electric Co. and GID Global, a White Plains-based staffing and employment agency that hired Hexemer to work in a GE Power & Water division facility in Schenectady.
