Just days after an appellate court dismissed the state’s appeal in a parole case, the Board of Parole has voted to release a disbarred lawyer serving a prison sentence for grand larceny.
The panel on Oct. 2 granted parole to Francis Zarro Jr., who was convicted after a nonjury trial in 2004 of several felonies for stealing millions of dollars he solicited for bogus real estate deals. Zarro was sentenced to a seven-to-21-year term
