Staten Island District Attorney Daniel Donovan is asking the state’s top court to refrain from hearing arguments on whether he appropriately stepped aside from an investigation involving the Working Families Party (WFP).
In a brief submitted Oct. 3 in response to a leave petition filed by the political party, Donovan’s office said there is nothing in the case worthy of the Court of Appeals’ review and no danger that prosecutors will routinely recuse themselves from controversial matters.
