Richard Hans, who leads DLA Piper’s litigation department in New York, has been appointed co-managing partner of the Manhattan office, the firm’s largest U.S. branch. Hans, 51, joins Heidi Levine, also co-managing partner of the 250-attorney office.

Hans will continue to chair the firm’s New York litigation practice, composed of about 100 attorneys. He represents financial institutions and other firms in commercial securities and structured products litigation and advises clients in regulatory and internal investigations.
