A Family Court judge in Westchester County who sanctioned an 18-B lawyer after the attorney requested that the judge recuse herself from a case has been reversed by a Brooklyn appeals panel.
In a unanimous Oct. 9 decision, the Appellate Division, Second Department, overturned Judge Michelle Schauer’s decision to sanction Gillian McGoey, an Elmsford 18-B attorney, on the ground of “frivolous conduct.”
