A development company and its two founders have filed an $80 million malpractice suit against Stroock & Stroock & Lavan, claiming the law firm assigned an “inexperienced associate” to represent them in the development of a Tribeca condo, causing them to lose equity in the project (See Complaint).

The plaintiffs—development company Heritage Partners LLC, affiliate 415 Greenwich LLC and the company’s founders Ethan Eldon and Joel Silver—said they retained Stroock in 2004 to represent them in their ownership and conversion of a prewar building into a condominium called the Tribeca Summit. Heritage was the developer and part owner of the project.
