Attorneys for a judge suing New York City for conspiracy and excessive force have released a bystander’s cellphone video that, they say, shows a police officer’s unwarranted attack.
Queens Supreme Court Justice Thomas Raffaele has filed a $300,000 lawsuit claiming he was hit in the throat without provocation in June 2012 when the unidentified officer became enraged as other onlookers asked him to stop hitting a detained man (See second video). In August 2012, Queens prosecutors said there was “insufficient evidence” to charge the officer.
