The Lawyers Alliance for New York presented its 2013 Cornerstone Awards to two firms—Kirkland & Ellis and Stroock & Stroock & Lavan—and 10 individuals at a ceremony Wednesday night at Credit Suisse, One Madison Ave. The awards honor outstanding pro bono legal services to nonprofit groups that are improving the quality of life for low-income New Yorkers. The Alliance also recognized 65 attorneys who volunteered to assist nonprofit organizations in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
