Lawyers from a national criminal defense bar association have agreed to represent Manhattan attorney Vinoo Varghese of Varghese & Associates, who is challenging a subpoena to testify before a grand jury.
Varghese is defense counsel to Richard Hovan, a former private school teacher charged with rape and engaging in sexual conduct with a teenage student. Hovan’s ex-fiancée has testified against him.
