The projected date for completion of a new courthouse in Staten Island has been pushed back from December 2013 to Spring 2014.
Because the progress on interior finishes at the site—pertaining to painting, flooring, fixture installation and building system testing—have “not met expectations,” a spokesman for the Dormitory Authority, the state agency managing the project, said “as of today” the expected completion date and issuance of a temporary certificate of occupancy would occur by March 31, 2014. The spokesman, John Chirlin, said the project’s $230 million budget has not changed.
