David Ayres, a former Nassau County Court judge, has joined Barket, Marion, Epstein & Kearon as the Garden City firm’s 10th attorney and its managing partner. Ayres, 47, will oversee day-to-day operations, assist in the firm’s long-term planning and expand its roster of attorneys.
In November, Ayres finished third in a race for two open County Court seats. “It was a wonderful 10 years. I’ll miss the experience. I’m equally as excited about entering this chapter,” he said in an interview. Apart from his management responsibilities, Ayres said he will take on cases that could include criminal defense, civil rights or personal injury. “I’m open to jumping in everywhere,” he said.
