Based in one of the state’s most populated counties, the Suffolk County Law Department has no shortage of work.

The 76-lawyer department is divided into four bureaus: Family Court, Torts, General Litigation and Municipal/Real Estate. Last year, the municipal and real estate team closed on the sale of more than 200 surplus acres of land, bringing the county more than $19 million; contracted for the purchase of more than 178 environmentally sensitive acres; and closed on more than 96 acres, with a combined value of more than $17 million.
