Ten vehicle repossession companies have agreed to stop taking business from title loan companies as a result of an effort by Attorney General Eric Schneiderman to crack down on predatory lenders.

Schneiderman said a number of lenders have been marketing a form of a payday loan in which money-starved consumers with poor credit histories can borrow against the value of their car.
