Western District Chief Judge William Skretny, who has led the court since 2010, has announced that he will take senior status next March. Skretny’s decision means Frank Geraci Jr. of Rochester will become the next chief judge.

Skretny, a 1990 appointee of President George H.W. Bush, is a former Erie County and federal prosecutor. He also practiced privately with Duke, Holzman, Yaeger & Radin in Buffalo.
