A man who has lived in the same Coney Island apartment since 1972 should not have lost his Section 8 subsidy for failing to tell the city that his girlfriend had moved in, Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice David Schmidt (See Profile) has ruled.
The man, Michael Pallodino, moved into the apartment with his parents, who have since died, and now lives there with his long-time girlfriend, Margot Diaz. In 2011, in his application to renew his Section 8 voucher, he reported income from Diaz’s son, but did not report any tenants other than himself.
