A shuttered law firm facing an involuntary bankruptcy filing by creditors lost its bid Wednesday to remove the case from a New York court.

Several creditors of Jacoby & Meyers Bankruptcy LLP had submitted an involuntary filing in the Southern District against the law firm, which had represented individuals in bankruptcies nationwide. The creditors said they haven’t been paid and were concerned about the firm’s consumer clients.
