How do you approach a case? Do you hold regular pretrial conferences?

I hold regular pre-trial conferences in all my civil cases and, more often than not, refer discovery to magistrate judges to supervise. Trials are what I enjoy participating in the most and I have very much enjoyed my 30-plus years on the Southern District court. As the late great judges of our court, Edward Weinfeld and Charles Brieant, often said: “We are the premier trial court in the country.”
