Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel partner Steven Goldman has been appointed by President Barack Obama to the advisory committee on the arts for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. The committee is a national advisory board appointed by the U.S. president and acts as ambassadors to their home states on behalf of the Kennedy Center and its national education and outreach programs.

Chandra Ortiz has been elected the first African-American dean of the Nassau Academy of Law, the educational arm of the Nassau County Bar Association. Ortiz is a solo practitioner who concentrates in corporate and franchise transactional law and residential and commercial real estate.
