A bill designed to help identify the remains of 681 unknown individuals in New York State and perhaps uncover information on the 4,483 people on the state’s active missing persons registry has been signed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
The bill (A9006/ S6750) requires the Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) to provide law enforcement agencies with indentifying information when it receives fingerprints of an unidentified deceased person.
