Q: What is your philosophy about the role of a judge?

A: Judges are public servants whose duty it is to ensure access, transparency, promptness and fairness with respect to the justice system for all who appear before us. This means affording parties the full measure of process they are due, ruling promptly and based on explicit reasoning, being vigilant about remaining neutral and impartial, and treating everyone involved in the process with respect and dignity.
