A worker injured by a resident of a state home for violent juveniles suffered post-traumatic stress disorder after returning to work and watching other staffers imperiled by youths, a state appeals court has held.

The Appellate Division, Third Department, panel ruled Thursday that Renny Dowdell is entitled to workers’ compensation for PTSD in addition to the benefits he received following the back injury he suffered in May 2010 while restraining a violent youth.
