ALBANY – Gov. Andrew Cuomo said he will take two more weeks to decide on his nominee for an upcoming opening on the Court of Appeals.
The governor missed Friday’s statutory deadline for making a selection. He had 30 days from the time the Commission on Judicial Nomination gave him a list of candidates to submit a nomination to the state Senate for confirmation The commission sent Cuomo the list on Sept. 3—26 days before its own Sept. 29 deadline to complete its task (NYLJ, Sept. 4).
