The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit has denied a request by plaintiffs’ lawyers in New York City’s stop-and-frisk litigation to have different federal judges hear the appeal of police unions seeking to intervene and derail their settlement with the city.
Over the objection of Darius Charney and other plaintiffs’ lawyers, circuit judges Jose Cabranes (See Profile), Barrington Parker (See Profile) and John Walker (See Profile)—the panel who had blocked Southern District Judge Shira Scheindlin’s (See Profile) liability and remedial rulings last year—will hear arguments on Wednesday.
