New York County Clerk Norman Goodman is leaving the post he has held since 1969, retiring on Dec. 31 at the age of 90.

As county clerk, Goodman maintains case files and recorded minutes along with entry of orders and judgments into the court system. He is also the commissioner of jurors of both civil and criminal branches for the county’s Supreme Court and ensures more than 2,000 prospective jurors are available to courts in Manhattan each day.
