Introduction of a bar exam in New York state based on the nationally standardized Uniform Bar Examination (UBE) will be delayed past the July 2015 rollout proposed by Chief Judge Jonathan Lippman, he announced Wednesday.

The chief judge said enough valid questions were raised during a public comment period to convince him of the need to better explain why the bar exam should change and to consider issues that were raised in the comments but not addressed in the UBE proposal (NYLJ, Oct. 7).
