Applying a formula devised by the U.S. Supreme Court that “seems akin to piloting a small craft to safe harbor in a Nor’easter,” a federal judge in Brooklyn has set restitution at $2,000 for a victim of child pornography.

Eastern District Judge Eric Vitaliano (See Profile), in U.S. v. Robert DiLeo, 12 CR 260, rejected the $152,500 restitution demand of “Vicky,” a pseudonym for the victim.
