ALBANY – Five attorneys in private practice and two sitting judges from the Appellate Division, Fourth Department comprise the list of candidates released Monday from which Gov. Andrew Cuomo must select a nominee to the state Court of Appeals.

The private attorneys selected by the state Commission on Judicial Nomination are all partners at high-powered Manhattan firms: Kathy Chin of Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft; Hector Gonzalez of Dechert LLP; Mary Kay Vyskocil of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett; Rowan Wilson of Cravath, Swaine & Moore; and Stephen Younger of Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler. None have previously been judges.
