Despite insurance carrier objections, Eastern District magistrate judges overseeing Hurricane Sandy litigation are adhering to an order that all defendants are obligated to produce drafts, notes, measurements and communications of engineers, adjusters and other defense experts.

Though scores of defendant carriers filed reconsideration motions complaining about an across-the-board production order contained in a November sanction decision against a particular carrier, Magistrate Judges Cheryl Pollak (See Profile), Gary Brown (See Profile) and Ramon Reyes Jr. (See Profile) said Monday that the defense had been obliged to turn over such records from the time the court first started grappling with the sprawling docket in February.
